Force FC Super Y Academy Information

Founded in 1999, Super Y is a nation-wide youth league operated by the United Soccer Leagues (USL), which is the largest organization of elite soccer leagues in North America. Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. Divisions within Super Y are organized geographically, and membership in the league is limited to only a few elite programs to ensure strong competition. The Super Y-League also has its own ODP Identification Program that has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team Programs.

The Force FC is proud to be selected as a Super Y club, meeting the strict criteria that attracts the quality outlined in their league description noted above.

Here you will find links to information about the Super Y League, how it applies to the Force FC players, and links to the documents you need to get stated with taking part in Super Y as a member of the Force FC Academy team.

Who is eligible to participate?

Force Football Club Academy teams within Super Y will be considered an “Elite” level of the clubs structure whilst remaining under the successful Force FC umbrella. Force FC “A” teams that play during the traditional seasonal year (Fall-Winter-Spring) will be fostered into the Force Football Club Academy with current players being given first opportunity to claim a roster spot; however teams may also include Force FC “B” team players and additional players from other clubs around the state to meet roster size requirements and maximize the talent level of each team. Super Y teams are not restricted by state association “poaching” or recruitment rules. Coaches of traditional Force FC teams, depending on availability may or may not coach the same age group of Force Football Club Academy teams.

What is the selection process for Force FC Academy teams?

Players are selected to Force Football Club Academy teams from one of the following steps or processes:
1. Current Force FC “A” team players will be given first opportunity to claim a roster spot within their current age group.
2. Tryouts may be conducted for all remaining openings on the roster.
3. By Invitation Only. .
After Force FC “A” team players indicate their commitment level to each team, coaches may begin to form their roster over a period of time, either through scheduled tryouts or by invitation only for all remaining roster openings. Whilst coaches seek players through the other processes listed above, players who attend a scheduled tryout can expect to hear from the age group coach within 1 week following the date of the tryout. You may be asked to either attend another tryout for further evaluation and/or coach recommendations may be sought for before an offer is extended. This process ensures that we try to assemble the best talent for each age group, but also do it in a timely fashion with respect to all the players involved.

How many players will be selected to each team?

Force Football Club Academy teams may roster up to 20 players, but can only dress 18 for each match. A player pool of over 18 players is often created for Super Y teams; injuries and summer commitments (vacation, ODP regional camp, soccer camps, etc.) typically prevent teams from having an issue with too many available players.
